E-bike tour from Ossiacher See to Wörthersee

From Ossiach, you follow the well-signposted bike route all the way to Velden whilst crossing the Ossiacher Tauern at an altitude of around 1000 meters. The Ossiacher Tauern are a woodland mountain range in Carinthia between Lake Ossiach in the northwest and Lake Wörther in the southeast. The Ossiacher Tauern, also called "The Little Tauern", consist of several peaks.

The route from Lake Ossiach to Lake Wörther also offers numerous attractions that are worth stopping at. In Ossiach these are: the Abbey Ossiach, which is more than 1000-year-old, the Music Academy, the Ossiacher Tauern Pond and the horse breeding stud farm at the legendary Tauernkirchlein, which is the last remaining branch church of the Abbey Ossiach. According to the legend the Tauern Church had to be built by a small mermaid, which, after bringing great calamity upon the people of Ossiach, was banished from the mermaid empire and only allowed to return after the construction of the church.

The wooden toy maker Jean Luc Lenoble also lives in the middle of the Ossiacher Tauern. If you take a detour to visit him in his workshop, it will not just be the children's eyes that shine as the idyllic lake also invites you to rest and relax.
