The Mountain Farming Museum is situated in an original quaint hut on the Gerlitzen Alp near the Pöllingerhütte. A well-secured panorama path will take you from the summit of the Gerlitzen directly to the museum.
Here you will find history brought back to life. In the museum you will see how difficult life was for the mountain farmers. You will also be able to observe how they produced milk and cheese products in days gone by. The Mountain Farming Museum ‘Gerlitzen Alpe’ is open daily and is free of charge with a KärntenCARD. With the KärntenCARD you can also travel free of charge to the summit with the Bergbahnen Gerlitzen from where an approximately 20 minute walk will take you to the museum.
