start live-chatRoad cycling on World Championship routes, in 3 countries, on the tracks of the pros or all the way to the sea. The road bike network in Villach offers a number of nationally and internationally renowned routes. Highlights include the 3-country road bike tour, the challenging circuit of the 1987 World Cycling Championships and the Villach mountain stage of the Austrian Cycling Tour.
The highlights of the lake region are certainly the 3-country road bike tour from Lake Faak via Tarvisio and the Predil Pass to Bovec in Slovenia and back again via the Vršič Pass (the highest in Slovenia) and Kranjska Gora. It's a tour that has it all and more than makes up for it: you can gather unforgettable impressions from three different countries and cultures in a single day on this tour.
Another flagship event is the mountain stage of the Austrian Cycling Tour up Villach's local mountain "Dobratsch". The start is at Lake Faak - after 1900 metres of climbing you reach the Rostratte, at the end of the Villach Alpine Road (16.5 km). If you prefer to follow in the footsteps of the 1987 World Championship cycling pros on less steep terrain, you can also ride the selective circuit.
If you like really long rides, you can make your way to Grado (IT). The Fuga300 (305 kilometres) leads from the glacier, through the Villach - Faaker See - Ossiacher See region, all the way to the sea.
