"Das Venezianer Gatter" or "The Venetian Gate":
A particularly interesting part of this attraction is the Venetian Saw. It is 250 years old, unique in style and recently restored lovingly with original tools by local craftsmen. Also interesting is the so-called "Waschl" which powers the gate. For a tour please call Mrs. Kröndl Christa to set up a time: 04278 549 or 0664 860 94 30.

Starting on the R2 bike path you ride eastward along the lake to Steindorf. After three kilometers you will find the first attraction- the old stone house (Steinhaus) of Günther Domenig. After a short ride further on R2 you turn right after “Gasthof Laggner,” and come to the eastern shore of Lake Ossiach (Ossiacher See). This is where a nature preserve begins- a rest place and observation deck are both available for your enjoyment.
After enjoying the nature for a bit on the eastern shores of Lake Ossiach, the ride begins again on a paved road, once again on the R2 route. Biking past the Teuffenbach Nursery, you cross Tiebel River and take a sharp left. Now you bike along the Tiebel, passing a model airplane field, then crossing back over the Tiebel in “Leinig.” Going through Leinig, Liebetig and Rabensdorf you will soon reach Feldkirchen. Before getting into the city we recommend taking a detour through the airfield. In Feldkirch you ride on the following streets: Schüttgasse, Klagenfurter Strasse, Bahnhofstrasse, and Gurktalerstrasse which all follow the R2 bike route to Powirtschach and Poitschach. The path will take you through the Poitschach Cemetery along the Tiebel to Himmelberg. Take a short ride on the main road (Landstrasse) towards Feldkirchen, past the Biberstein Castle (Schloss Biberstein) to “Gasthof Eiswirt,” where you turn into the forest at a crossroads to Schleichenfeld. You then bike further through Tiffnerwinkl and Nadling to Tiffen. Take a left by “Gasthof Lobisserstube,” and ride over the Tiffner Brook (Tiffnerbach), then take a right at the wayside shrine (Bildstock) towards Leinig. From there you follow the R2 bike path along the Tiebel until Steindorf and Bodensdorf (the starting point).
