If even Reinhold Messner, the most famous mountaineer in the world, describes the circumnavigation of a fascinating mountain as probably the strongest hiking experience, then we should definitely follow his recommendation. 

The short long-distance trail in southern Austria offers everything that a mountain circumnavigation promises in this sense. The five stages lead through times of former burial mounds, drainage tunnels and shelters, connect places of famous painting art and former monastic life, traverse bizarre landslide landscapes and guide along ancient Roman roads. At the junction of three cultures, the Dobratsch Loop also gains an unprecedented future-oriented character with its cross-border aspect.
