The round leads back into the forest road and you keep to the left. After a few meters you reach the beginning of the ascent to the Kanzianiberg branch church. At the first way cross, turn left onto the somewhat steeper Kirchensteig, which offers great views. Note: Both paths - forest road and way of the cross - lead to the church.
About halfway there is the village museum in an old barn (information on guided tours and opening times is available from the tourist information office Faak am See ). The last ascent is quickly done at a leisurely pace.
The Kanzainiberg branch church welcomes the hiker with an idyllic square and you can have great views of the Mittagskogel, Mallestiger Mittagskogel and lake Faaker See. Truly a beautiful place that invites you to linger. The church itself was first mentioned on 4th November 1301, but no one knows how old the church actually is. For the descent, go through the narthex - the entrance area of the church - and follow the forest road down to the first building.
Follow the signs to Finkenstein and make a short detour to the shady Magdalenenquelle at the next sign. On warm summer days, this place is a real cool down - enjoy the water. Back at the crossroads, descend the moderately steep path to the outskirts of Finkenstein and reach the asphalted Kanzianibergweg.
Here you turn left and follow the forest path to a Kneipp area with a plunge pool for hands, arms and feet (caution, there is a risk of slipping in the walk-in pool!). Back on the forest path, follow the direction you have taken and at a small bridge you go up to the right to the "beautiful view". At the next steep crossing, turn right again and now, without any major changes in direction, in a few minutes you will reach the "Schöne Aussicht" vantage point.
Go back the way you came from and branch off to the right following the markings. Soon the signposting is reached, which leads the hiker past a model of the village mill back to the starting point at the Kanzianiberg car park area.
