Neugarten Almsee Water World Hike- The Gerlitzen Alps

A short hike from the summit to Neugarten Almsee to the middle station, with a subsequent trip back up to the summit.  

The Costal hike is also interesting- with this route you can take a route past three different restaurant-huts with different Carinthian specialties offered at each. Relevant information can be found at the Summit house, the Almsee hut, the Pöllinger hut or the cashier's desk at the gondola valley station.

From the summit house, the hike goes past the Alpinhotel and Gasthof Pacheiner down in the direction of Neugarten Almsee. From there the path is very well-marked and is easy to navigate. All the paths are identified by their number and the letter "W" (ex: W4)- the individual intersections are labeled with their number and the letter "S" (ex: S76).

Please use the following route and its corresponding numbers as a guide, provided by Alpinhotel Pacheiner:

W3 -> Neugarten Almseehütte -> W5 S5 W5 S54 W4 S53 W41 -> Kammerhütte -> W41 S52 W4 -> Kanzelbahn Mittelstation -> with the Sessellift to the Gerlitzen summit.

There are plenty of parking spots in the valley station parking lot.

You can best reach the Gerlitzen gondola with the S2 train of the ÖBB by exiting at Annenheim. You then take the gondola to the middle station, where you can take a chairlift to the summit.
