Tarvis - Ossiacher See - Cycle Bus Tour - Ciclovia Alpe Adria

Take the bus to Tarvis- from there bike along the Gail River back to the Ossiacher See (Lake Ossiach).

With a valid Erlebnis Card of the VIllach region, the bike bus is free of charge for you!

Beginning in Tarvis, this ride follows the old train tracks towards the „Grenze,“ or border- the ride goes lightly up and down through the mountains, following the bike path signs until crossing the border. From Thörl-Maglern you take a separate bike path until you arrive at the B83 road, where you cross a bridge over the Gailitz and bike to a round-about. Follow the road slightly uphill to the “Rathausplatz” (Town Hall Square) in Arnoldstein. Shortly after the “Rathausplatz,” near the elementary school, take a left and ride through Neuhaus to Erlendorf. Take a left here and cross another bridge over the Gail to get to the cyclist tavern “Gailstüberl.” From here you follow the “Karnischen” bike path. You ride through Unterfederaun to Müllern and follow the course of the river along the Gail Dam to “Maria Gailer Strasse.” Stay on the bike path and you will soon reach the “rote” (red) “Friedensbrücke” (Peace Bridge), which you cross over the Drau River. Stay right and go against the flow of the river, alternating between asphalt and dirt roads. You will bike past Landskron to the western shore of the Ossiacher See (Lake Ossiach). From there you can either bike north or south around the lake.
