World Championship Track 1987

Don´t forget to take a picture at the famous Egger Marterl - a wayside shrine in front of the beautiful scenerey!

The original start of the race in 1987 was in Maria Gail. However, there are not many parking spaces available there.

From Drobollach you cycle along the federal road to the East with the wonderful mountains of the Karawanken and Faaker See as a constant companion on yoru right hand side. Before the village of Egg, turn left and drive down the hill until you reach the roundabout in St. Niklas. There take the third exit and cylce up a small ascent to Großsattel. From there, the road continues through beautiful forests to Kleinsattel and towards Villach. After a short time you reach the main road which leads to Villach on the right - here you turn left and drive back to Faaker See. After a slightly longer hill, the so called Fuchsbichl, you get back to Drobollach through the small village of Mittewald.
