Villach Kirchtag

On the first Saturday in August and in the traditional week beforehand, the old town of Villach is ruled by the fair days. The largest and most famous custom festival in Austria draws more than 450,000 visitors every year into the festively decorated town on the Drau. It is an incomparable fair for all ages, all tastes and all the senses.

To offer something for absolutely everyone, local and foreign customs are shown at over 130 individual events. At Austria's largest guest garden on the Villach main square, one can enjoy the best fair delicacies, whilst listening to the best folk music groups on four stages - of course without loudspeakers.
Young visitors and those who are young at heart can also enjoy the leisure and entertainment mile with many fairground rides. The large, modern leisure park offers new and varying attractions every year and on the festival Saturday there is a big colourful parade with more than 3500 participants in traditional dress and dozens of brass orchestras.
