Alpe-Adria cycle path

Ciclovia Alpe-Adria cycle path

The Alpe-Adria cycle path is a so-called long-distance cycle path around 410 kilometres long, leading from Salzburg via the Alps to Grado on the Adriatic. The cycle path connects exceptionally beautiful holiday destinations and of course the Villach region is part of it. Most of the way is along cycle paths and the signposting is good and uniform.

The Alpe Adria cycle path provides connections! In one week, you can cycle from Salzburg to Grado - from the Salzachtal into the Gasteinertal and from here to Mallnitz, right across Carinthia. After Spittal an der Drau you stop in Villach - the second-largest town in Carinthia and definitely worth a visit and stay - before you cross the Austrian-Italian border at Arnoldstein. On partly converted railway tracks, the route now leads you through Italy. From Tarvisio to Gemona, Udina and Aquileia until you finally reach Grado on the Adriatic. the idyllic places, impressive sights and imposing natural landscapes you encounter along the way will remain memorable.
