Carinthischer Sommer
When music meets holiday, it's Carinthian Summer! Next summer, the Villach – lake Faaker See – lake Ossiacher See region will once again be transformed into a centre for culture, encounters and joie de vivre. Under the artistic direction of Nadja Kayali, Carinthia's most important cultural festival is all about openness, diversity and inspiring moments and promises to be a festival for all the senses.
As always, the festival orchestra, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, takes centre stage. Under the title Fairytale Magic, the orchestra will whisk you away to the mysterious world of One Thousand and One Nights – an enchanting musical experience.
The festival also offers many other highlights: Experience music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Ossiach Abbey and enjoy international flair with a mix of classical music, jazz and oriental sounds with clarinet star Kinan Azmeh.
Rudolf Buchbinder also presents his audience with a very special concert to mark his 80th birthday .
Whether atmospheric concerts, exciting literature or simply the special atmosphere in the region – the Carinthian Summer promises unforgettable moments in the midst of the Carinthian mountains and lakes.
