The Carinthian Summer has been attracting artists and music enthusiasts from all over the world to Carinthia every year in July and August since 1969 and offers a varied programme that is second to none.
Enjoy the wonder of classical music at the Carinthian Summer, from large symphony orchestras to intimate chamber music evenings, from choral concerts to song recitals, discover a whole world every time. The Carinthian Summer kicks off the 2024 festival season on 6 July under the motto Personal, with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra as the new festival orchestra of the Carinthian Summer. It will open the festival under Portuguese conductor Joana Carneiro and close it with a brilliant evening of film music on 4 August under British star conductor Wayne Marshall. There is an event every day until 5 August. In addition to exquisite concerts, the Carinthian Summer offers numerous events for children and families, hands-on concerts, musical walks, music theatre, readings and talks. This year's focus country Portugal is in the spotlight with a fado concert, readings and world premieres as well as baroque Portuguese choral music.
