The lake with the most assured ice in the region is Aichwaldsee.

For your safety, frozen lakes are approved or prohibited by the experts of the ice skating club Wörthersee. If the weather is too warm, you can use the big ice rink in Steindorf at Ossiacher See or the Stadthalle in Villach. An experience in itself: the ice skating rinks set up outdoors.
Recommended: the ice skating rink in front of the city hall in the centre of Villach. Especially in the evening, the atmospheric lighting ensures magic on the ice. You can also hire ice skates at a good price.
