A gem for culture and nature lovers

Vacation in Nötsch

The natural village of Nötsch is located in the Gailtal valley - at the foot of the mighty Dobratsch mountain. The pure mountain air, magnificent panoramas and the light of the south create a unique atmosphere.

It is therefore no coincidence that the "Nötscher Kreis" group of artists formed here in the first half of the 20th century. Their traces can be experienced today in the museum or on a guided cultural walk.

Lively customs and folk culture await visitors at the Josefimarkt or the Kirchtag. The region also offers a mountain adventure pool and a small airfield from which you can marvel at the impressive landscape around Nötsch from above on sightseeing flights.

Do not miss

  • Traditions: At the Gailtaler Kirchtag in Nötsch in summer you can experience the traditional Kufenstechen, followed by the atmospheric Lindentanz.
  • Dobratsch circular route hiking trail: The 69-kilometre long-distance hiking trail leads in four daily stages around the Dobratsch Nature Park and offers impressive views.
  • Canoe tour into the Schütt: Paddle along the Gail to the impressive landslide landscape and enjoy unique views of the Dobratsch.
