1. Dobratsch Nature Park
You can travel by car up to 1732 meters above sea level via the Villacher Alpine road. From there, a variety of hiking and relaxation opportunities open up amidst the lush green pastures. Especially in summer, your four-legged friend will be very grateful for the cool mountain air. Please note that in our region dogs are to be kept on a leash in principle and that the grazing cattle move freely in the Dobratsch Nature Park and do not want to be disturbed when grazing.
2. Messner lido on Lake Ossiach
Summer time is bath time! The Messner lido in Heiligengestade on the south bank of Lake Ossiach offers the comfort of its own dog beach. You are very welcome to come here with your furry friend.
3. Natural Jewel Schütt
The Schütt mountain area south of the Dobratsch offers a unique flora and fauna in Europe, where you and your four-legged friend can enjoy a relaxing break. Numerous hiking trails lead from the fire station in Upper High Court to the extensive idyll, where you regularly encounter the cool Gail River during your hikes.
4. Worounitza sandbank
Do you fancy water fun in a stunning turquoise lake? The Worounitz River constantly supplies Lake Faaker with fresh water from the Karawanken mountains. But that's not all - the lake also owes its beautiful turquoise colour to the river, which transports finest lime particles to valley. These are then reflected by sunlight and form the unique turquoise colour of Lake Faaker. If this has sparked your curiosity, it's best to go on a refreshing tour along the Worounitza opposite the sandbank beach pool on the east bank of Lake Faaker.
5. Old Bleiberger Street
Do you enjoy peace and quiet? Then you will find just the right place for yourself along the old Bleiberg Street. From Mittewald at Villach follow the Kadutschengraben along a gentle forest path to the river Weißbach, which will accompany you from here onwards for the rest of your walk.
