The hike begins at the small chapel "Kreuzkapelle" at the eastern side of Arnoldstein (from the B83 first left, following the signs "Marienpilgerweg"). Follow the "Marktstrasse" towards west, past old houses and the parish church of St. Lambert. After the bakery "Arnold", the path leads up to the once mighty Benedictine monastary. Right next to it is the museum of Arnoldstein. From there, a footpath leads further into the convent garden and south, then to the cemetery and to an rare industrial monument, the shot-tower. Turning from shot-tower north, you can already see on a small hill the Gailitzer church. After a trip to this idyllic church, return to the bike path and from there follow the signs "Marienpilgerweg" until you reach a subway leading under the federal road. Here you go straight to the next junction, then keep left and follow the trail no. 3 (an old Roman road) to the village Maglern. At the village fountain, take the left road and follow it to the parish church St. Andrä. Follow the way back on the same route.
