Hermagor - Pressegger See: The starting point of the tour is Hermagor railway station, from where you first cycle eastwards towards the end of the town. Shortly before the petrol station, turn right and cycle along village roads through the Burger Moos, the village of Untervellach and along the Seebach to the Pressegger See. Along the northern shore you pass this idyllic lake and then continue to follow the green signs of the Gailradweg R3. The railway line of the Gailtalbahn, which runs alongside the cycle path, also serves as an orientation.
Pressegger See - Vorderberg - Nötsch im Gailtal: Approx. 1.5 km after leaving Presseggen, turn right onto the Egger Landesstraße, pass the Görtschach-Förolach railway station and immediately after the railway crossing turn left onto the Gailtalradweg R3, cross the river Gail over a bridge after 1 km and follow the cycle path for another 4 km to Vorderberg. After crossing the picturesque village, cross the river again over a bridge and continue on the R3 along the northern bank. You pass the Emmersdorf railway station and continue alongside the B111 federal road to Nötsch im Gailtal. Here we recommend a visit to the well-known museum of the "Nötscher Kreis" and the renowned Wiegele bakery.
Nötsch im Gailtal - Schütt protected landscape area: In front of the supermarket in the centre of Nötsch im Gailtal, the route continues eastwards through the village of Saak with its idyllic village centre and further along the Carnic Cycle Route R3 now on gravel roads along the Gail and through the Schütt protected landscape area at the foot of the Dobratsch. Approx. 8 km after Nötsch you reach the "Almwirtschaft Schütt" at the Nepomuk bridge, where a short stop for refreshments is recommended. After another 2 km you come to the Gail power station, which you can cross over a bridge. Continue to follow the cycle path eastwards. Shortly before the village of Oberschütt, cross the Gail again and follow the cycle path for another 9 km through Erlendorf to Müllnern.
Müllnern - Villach - Landskron - Ossiacher See: From here, continue to follow the Carnic Cycle Path R3 in the direction of Villach until just before the large red bridge. At the small intersection of two cycle paths, turn slightly left under two bridges and always follow the signs for "Ossiacher See". Most of the time you cycle along the Seebach (upstream) until you reach the L49 of the Ossiacher See Südufer Straße. Here you follow the R2 cycle path northwards until you reach the Ossiacher See campsite. Shortly afterwards, turn left and cycle under a railway subway until you reach the B94 Ossiacher Straße.
