Hügelrunde Ossiacher See - Mittelkärnten

This road bike tour takes you from Lake Ossiach through the hilly landscape of Central Carinthia.

Suitable road bike, tools and safety equipment, helmet, sufficient hydration.

Starting from Ossiach, first follow the road or cycle path R2A eastward to the end of the lake. Continue along the main road to Prägrad. There, turn right towards Höfling. In Höfling, at a fork, turn right and go steeply uphill for a short distance to Glanhofen. Go straight over the main road. Shortly after the highest point, turn right and then left again in the dip, following the road through the valley to Oberglan. At the curve, merge onto the main road, turn right, and continue straight over the next main road, following the side road to Klein St. Veit. Continue along the road to Wölfnitz. In the village, turn right towards St. Andrä and the golf course. At the main road, turn left and follow it to Lendorf. There, turn left again onto the main road and continue straight to the traffic lights. Go straight through and follow the road to Poppichl, where you need to turn left at a tricky spot. Then follow the side road to Karnburg. Here, turn left onto the main road and follow it to the Preilitz junction. Turn left here and continue along the side road to the Karnberg junction. Turn left again and follow the side road to St. Peter am Bichl. In this village, turn right to reach the main road. Then turn right here and, after a short time, turn left into the village of Zweikirchen. Here, you can refill water at the cemetery. In the village itself, turn left again towards Maria Feicht. At the junction with the main road, turn right and follow it downhill for a short distance. Once it flattens out at the bottom, turn right into the village of Glanegg. Continue through the village, and at the end, at a slight incline, go through a small underpass and turn right towards Kadöll. In Kadöll, follow the road slightly left to Besendorf and further to Gramilach. In Gramilach, turn steeply left and follow the road up to the main road. Turn left at the main road and continue to St. Urban. Turn left again here, and after a short incline, carefully descend the steeper downhill section into the valley. At the junction with the main road, turn right and immediately right again at the inn. Behind the inn, take the side road up the hill, passing through the houses while keeping left towards Berg and Dietrichsteiner See. Pass the lake and continue to Tschwarzen, and after a descent, go through Feldkirchen to Rabensdorf (glider airfield). Continue on the road to Liebetig and Burgrad. Then, follow the main road left to the Ossiach junction. Turn left, and after the scenic section along the lake, turn right at the junction with the southern shore road, and follow it back to Ossiach.
