Start this tour in Bad Bleiberg. Opposite the fire brigade and east of the cable car follow path (no. 295) which branches off southwards towards Dobratsch. Over a meadow and after short climb you will come past a small chapel, where the trail leads into the forest. Follow the trail on a pleasant slope. You will cross a forest trail and come into ever steeper terrain. At about 1250 meters above sea level, the forest becomes less dense due to past avalanches. In some bends you cross a steep part of the trail and then crosses the so-called Alpenlahner. Continue through tree-free terrain. The last 200 meters at the exit of the Alpenlahner are quite difficult!

At nearly 2000 meters above sea level you will reach the Dobratsch plateau the alpine trail coming from the restaurant Rosstratte. This trail is popular as a route up to the Dobratsch. From here head westwards and after a few minutes you will reach the top with its chapel (Windische Kapelle). Enjoy the magnificent view of the Julian Alps with Triglav, Razor and Prisank as well as the Gailtaler Alps. Follow the same way back to the starting point.
