Lake Aichwaldsee

South of Villach, in the municipality of Finkenstein, you can find the idyllic Aichwaldsee - one of the last untouched natural swimming lakes in Carinthia. With its compact size of 4.5 hectares, it offers a particularly natural bathing experience. The Aichwaldsee lido, built from local larch tree and awarded the Carinthian Timber Construction Prize, has been inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxing swim since 2014.

Since 2016, the lido has been managed with a lot of community spirit and love by the Kulturgarten Aichwaldsee association. It opens for bathers from mid-May, but Lake Aichwaldsee also has a lot to offer outside of the swimming season: With more than 60 cultural events in the fields of painting, music and literature, it is a meeting place for lovers of nature and culture all year round.The lakeside café is not only a popular resting place for swimmers, but also for walkers and cyclists who want a fantastic view of the water.
