Finkenstein

Situated by the turquoise lake Faaker See

The Drau to the north, the Karawanken to the south with the imposing Mittagskogel - in between lies Finkenstein. Countless enticing walking, hiking and cycling paths, while you can enjoy windsurfing, sailing and boating on the lake. A tip: explore the reeds landscape with a canoe. Another gem in Finkenstein: the lake Aichwaldsee. A quiet and very natural swimming lake.

In summer, the Burgarena Finkenstein sets the tone, as a piece of culture is created year upon year high above Faaker See. Around 1200 people can be seated in the historical arena - for concerts and cabaret evenings in front of a fabulous backdrop. You can tee off beautifully at the magnificent Panorama golf course Finkenstein Castle. An inviting 18-hole course with a lovely pond landscape, low altitude differences, generously laid out fairways and perfect greens.
Are you keen on climbing? Then Finkenstein can offer the largest, most popular and most traditional climbing garden in Carinthia, Kanzianiberg. Here you can choose between 400 different tours and countless training circuits at all difficulty levels - suitable for beginners and professionals alike. A big infusion of Mediterranean flair is brought to Finkensteinby Austria's largest citrus collection . Over 240 sorts and more than 2000 in number, citrus trees up to four metres high. For biker fans: the largest Harley Davidson gathering in the world: the European Bike Week takes centre stage in Faak am See every year at the beginning of September.
