New Year's Eve in Villach

Experience the turn of the year in the Drau town

Every year on New Year's Eve, Villach's old town attracts visitors with a varied programme of festivities.

Silvesterprogramm 2023

  • 10 am - 1 pm: "Birdland Jazzband" | Lantern stage Hauptplatz
  • 1 - 4 pm: "Los Gattos" | lantern stage Kirchenplatz (an acoustic highlight, as well as for all dance enthusiasts to join in:Italo-Latino dance rhythms - Salsa - Cumbia - Merengue - Cha Cha - Rueda - Bachata)
  • 1 - 3 pm: "DJ Soprano" - Best of 80s & 90s Hits | Rathausplatz
  • 4 - 9 pm: Ice disco | town hall square
  • Afterwards - "DJ Soprano" accompanies all visitors with the best hits until the turn of the year11 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.: | Main Square between the Le Bar and Palais 26 huts Helga and Jakob Durchner forge horseshoes live on site and delight visitors with time-honoured New Year's Eve traditions. Helga Durchner immediately interprets the symbolism of metal casting and Jakob Durchner gives tips on how to properly attach a horseshoe at home.

Opening hours huts

  • Huts around the parish church: 10 a.m. - midnight or 2 a.m. (catering)
  • Huts on the main square: 10 am - 2 am
