For guests and residents alike, Villach boasts a continuous network of cycle paths, an accessible city centre, the Drau cycle path, the Gail cycle path and as part of the Ciclovia Alpe Adria long-distance cycle path.
Nowhere is a dip in the cool water as refreshing and revitalising as here. Numerous larger and smaller bathing lakes with drinking water quality can be reached within a short distance by bike, bus or car. Incidentally, the lakes don't just exude their special charm in the height of summer, as walkers will find glittering scenery and picturesque mountain panoramas in the background, especially in the cooler months. And if that's too cold for a dip, you can swap the natural lake for warm thermal springs at the KärntenTherme thermal spa.
The illuminated Villach church tower can be seen from afar and shines as a lit candle over the rooftops of Villach's old town. The Christmas market in Villach's old town centre puts all visitors in a pre-Christmas mood with the scents of gingerbread, mulled wine and chestnuts. The ice skating rink not only brings a sparkle to children's eyes. The stalls offer lots of arts and crafts, beautiful gift ideas and a wide range of children's activities.
