From the lake to the mountains - or vice versa

In Treffen at Ossiacher See this is easy. After all, the little market community lies at the transition from the Gegendtal to the Villach basin. In the north-east, the municipal area reaches as far as Gerlitzen, in the south-west to Krastal, Hochpirkach and Oswaldiberg. What that means for you concretely? The recreational mountain Gerlitzen Alpe and Verditz are within easy reach.

The well-known lakeside villages of Annenheim and Sattendorf are an Eldorado for water sports enthusiasts. Here swimming, surfing, sailing, kayaking and diving are on the programme, along with pedalo or waterskiing. How about parasailing or a fun ride on a banana boat, a tyre or a wakeboard? The choice is yours.

The Treffen community also has plenty worth seeing for visitors of all age groups. It is worth visiting the mountain and meadow museum at Pöllinger Hütte, the sculptures in the Krastal, the sequoia and Treffen castle, a renaissance castle from the 16th century, and the nearby Finsterbach waterfalls in Sattendorf.
