Mobility in the region
Regardless of whether you are travelling to the Villach - Faaker See - Ossiacher See region by public transport or whether you are ‘changing trains’ once you arrive: during your stay, you have a wide range of mobility options in the region at your disposal. You will find all the information you need on this page.
Would you like to travel without a car? The S-Bahn, post buses, event buses as well as the Ossiacher See boat service or the Gerlitzen Alpe mountain railway will take you to your desired destination. In summer, you can also use various hire systems (bikes, cars, scooters, etc.). In winter, use the nature park shuttle and our ski buses. And best of all: with the region's Erlebnis CARD, many mobility offers are even free of charge.
Mobility services with the Erlebnis CARD
With the Erlebnis CARD of the holiday region (available from participating hosts), numerous mobility offers are available to you free of charge.
These include, for example:
- All S-Bahn services throughout Carinthia
- The Dobratsch Nature Park bus in summer and winter
- Selected Postbus routes
- Postbus shuttle to Lake Ossiach ( Steindorf & Ossiach)
- Radsprinter: ÖBB trains with bicycle transport (Tauernsprinter, Gailtalsprinter, Karawankensprinter, Koralm Sprinter, MICOTRA)
- Ski buses

General bus & train offers
Take advantage of the numerous bus and train offers to explore our holiday region Villach - Faaker See - Ossiacher See. With the Erlebnis CARD you can travel free of charge on the suburban railway lines throughout Carinthia and on the region's post buses. There are also numerous options for your cycling holiday.
There are numerous bus routes to take you from A to B during your holiday. Use the Kärntner Linien route planner to find the best connection for you.

Postbus Shuttle
A flexible and comfortable way to get around: the Ossiacher See Postbus Shuttle takes you on demand to day-trip destinations, hiking starting points and many other locations in the municipalities of Steindorf am Ossiacher See and Ossiach. With the Erlebnis CARD, use of the Ossiacher See Postbus Shuttle is free of charge.
Other Postbus shuttles in Carinthia are also included or available at a significantly reduced rate with the guest cards, including LAVmobil in the Lavant Valley, Southern Carinthia, Wörthersee North, the Upper Drau Valley and Techelsberg & Wörthersee. With a valid Erlebnis CARD, you can travel to the most beautiful places in Carinthia free of charge and in a relaxed atmosphere! The S-Bahn connects the region with the Carinthian centre with a dense network of train connections.
The Erlebnis CARD is also your ÖBB ticket for unlimited journeys on local trains on the S-Bahn lines through Carinthia. Bicycle transport is not included, you can book the transport of your bicycle online. Instructions can be downloaded here.
