2. Bergmann's Advent in Bad Bleiberg
Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners, celebrates her name day on the 4th December. It always has been and still is a custom in Bad Bleiberg to honour this day. Lighting a Barbara candle and the cutting of cherry branches mark the beginning of the "Bad Bleiberg Bergmannsadvent" in Bad Bleiberg.
3. Christmas tree diving
A beautiful Advent tradition on Lake Aichwald in Finkenstein is the Christmas tree diving organised by the Water Rescue Service of Faak. Christmas tree diving has been a memorial service for more than 25 years, remembering all those who fell victim to drowning. Every year the day before Christmas, locals as well as guests meet and enjoy a contemplative time at the lake with mulled wine and tea.
4. Farmers Advent in Villach
Every year just before Christmas, the Christ Child, accompanied by the holy three kings and his angels, arrives in Villach by boat with the Drauschiff and is met with lanterns, bells and singing on the Drauterrassen.
