The rock face of Peterlewand near St Urban, unassuming from a distance, lies hidden in the landscape. During the time of the Counter-Reformation, Peterlewand was a strategically important location. It is described in Gustav Renker’s novel, ‘People Without a Homeland’. The first climbing routes were established around 1988 by a 16 to 18-year-old student from Bodensdorf.

The Gerlitzen Alpe with the Kanzelbahn cable car, open all year round, is a perfect mountain for more than hiking and culinary enjoyment. If you would like to take off into the air, this is a perfect spot for paragliding whether as a beginner, more experienced or a complete novice.
