Dobratsch - Rosstratte to Maria Stein

The winter hike up Villach's local mountain - the Dobratsch -with the chapel Maria Stein as the highest tour point impresses with its sunny orientation, the incredible panorama and the prepared paths.

Starting from the Rosstratte car park at 1.743 m, follow the wide road towards the west. At the foot of Zehnernock, follow path no. 291 to the summit. If you want, you can take a detour to the Gams and summit view platform in the right-hand bend.

In the second half, the climb becomes much flatter. Many people are content with the summit house as the tour destination and stop straight away. However, we recommend the short climb to the chapel Maria Stein or to the weather station where the summit cross can be seen.

The descent takes place via the same way.

The Rosstratte can be reached at regular intervals by public transport.
