Starting from the Kanzelbahn mountain station, you go around the Sunn Alm restaurant counterclockwise, passing the public toilet and the toboggan hill. After the short climb up the toboggan hill you reach the storage pond. In winter you will also find the first signs for the Steinwenderhütte (path no. 31). You follow the path in this direction and after the reservoir you reach a small parking lot and shortly afterwards on the road to the Waldtratte parking lot.

Following the road uphill, you cross a tunnel (careful!) and reach the parking lot. Here you will find the signpost to the Kammerhütte (path no. 41). Follow the fully signposted road to the Kammerhütte. Directly below the Kammerhütte you branch off onto the path to the Schlossbaueralm (path no. 1762).

After a few minutes' walk, the forest clears up and reveals a view of the Buchacheralm and the Villacher Basin. After leaving the alpine pasture, you dive back into the winter forest and pass the ÖAV's unmanaged Gerlitzen Hut before you reach the Schlossbaueralm, again with indescribable views of the Karawanken, the Julian Alps and the Dobratsch Nature Park.

Shortly after the Schlossbaueralm, follow the signs the last section to the Stone Table and thus the turning point. The descent takes place via the ascent path.

If you don't dare to take a prepared alternative and are equipped with snowshoes, you can still make the ascent to Stifterboden (path no. 1771) and descend directly to the Kammerhütte.
