The lake Faaker See can be experienced all year round. With no private motorboats, it is ideal for swimming and soft water sports. For bathing guests, the numerous bathing beaches, such as the free Panorama Beach in Drobollach, are the perfect place for swimming and water fun on hot days. For SUP enthusiasts, kayakers and anglers, the crystal-clear lake at the foot of the Mittagskogel mountain offers perfect conditions to drive, to the lake also when temperatures are colder. Many hours of sunshine and the beautiful panorama make a day at lake Faaker See to an unforgettable experience.
Hiking & walking
For walkers, two Slow Trails lead along the lake Faaker See and take walkers to lesser-known but all the more beautiful places along the lake. The 4-peaks panoramic tour and the famed Alpe-Adria Trail are more sporty. But families and the youngest hikers will also get their fun on the family adventure hikes ‘’Fox trail‘’ and ’‘On Woroun´s tail’’.
Cycling
The lake Faaker See is not only easy to reach by bike. In addition to the lake.bike trail centre lake Faaker See around the Baumgartnerhof, the pumptracks (one at the Panorama Beach in Drobollach and one at the SOCCERzone in Egg), which have been specially built for young mountain bike fans, ensure fun on the bike. The Alpe-Adria cycle path or the Finkenstein castle arena are good starting points for beautiful tours with the e-bike, mountain bike or racing bike.

Climbing & via ferratas
The Kanzianiberg is one of the largest climbing areas in Carinthia, located in the immediate vicinity of lake Faaker See. Boulder routes, multi-rope lengths and via ferrata variations bring together all generations of climbers. In the summer months, the nearby via ferrata Rotschitza-Klamm is very popular. Fun for the whole family is guaranteed at the Forest rope climbing park Taborhöhe.

The Slow Trail, which stretches along the length of the lake Faaker See, provides a soft winter sports experience and relaxing moments. In the winter months, some enjoy the special sparkle of the lake by paddling a SUP or kayaking or even trying out cold bathing or ice swimming. For alpine skiing fans, the Ski centre Gerlitzen Alpe is only 20 minutes away from lake Faaker See.
