Tips for winter hiking with snowshoes
Pay attention to sturdy boots. Snowshoes are best attached to proper hiking or mountain climbing boots.
The larger the snowshoe, the less you will sink into the deep snow. However, if you are planning a tour in steeper climbing conditions, we recommend smaller snowshoes.
The binding should have a quick-release fastener.
Use adjustable telescopic trekking poles with large baskets for deep snow.
Make sure you are well prepared for a snowshoe tour. Every touring rucksack should contain sun creme with a high UV factor, an unbreakable thermos bottle, sun glasses, a packed lunch, a mobile phone and a first aid kit with a warming blanket.
