The Museum of the City of Villach

Gain insights into the history of Villach at the historical museum

The City Museum of Villach, located in an old burgher residence, the Palais Crusiz, in the historic town centre, was founded in 1873 and offers numerous exhibits allowing a peek into the past. These are displayed in an area of approximately 700 m2. Don’t miss out on the popular branch museum either, the Landscape Relief Model of Carinthia, in Villach’s Schiller Park.

In the City Museum, which is open from the beginning of May to the end of October, you will gain extensive insights into the history, art and culture of the city and surroundings of Villach. Each year the museum dedicates a special exhibition to a particular theme.

The tower of the parish church of Villach also belongs to the museum as well as the Relief. At 84m it is the highest church tower in Carinthia and offers a wonderful view over the city and surrounding area. You can find the exact opening hours as well as entry fees directly on the website of the Museum of the City of Villach.
