Would you like to indulge in the sweet life? Here you go: Let's go shopping in the region. There are many charming, well-stocked shops and shopping centres around Villach, such as the Atrio, the KAUFein VEZ Villach or the Neukauf Villach.

Our liveable region is rich in cultural highlights. Around Villach you can stroll between exciting cultural offerings, museums and historic buildings. Let's start in the town of Villach. In the town centre, directly opposite the town hall, it's ‘Curtain up!’. Here you will find the popular Neuebühne Villach theatre, which specialises in contemporary drama.

Not far from here is the Villach City Museum. It has been awarded the museum seal of approval and impresses with its annually changing special exhibitions, among other things. Nearby you can visit the imposing Villach parish tower. Just a little further on, in the Schillerpark, you will come across the impressive relief of Carinthia - the largest landscape sculpture in Europe.

The rest of the museum landscape in the Villach - Faaker See - Ossiacher See holiday region is also diverse and exciting. They range from the TAF-TIMER car museum and the Nötscher Kreis Museum to the Pilz Museum in Treffen and the Bunker Museum on the Wurzen Pass. The Domenig Steinhaus in Steindorf on Lake Ossiach is also considered a special cultural asset. Architecture enthusiasts can visit the ‘house museum’ of star architect Günter Domenig all year round.

Are you interested in old buildings and ways of life? Follow in the footsteps of times long past at the historic Wernberg Monastery. The former castle from the middle ages is now a monastery and serves as a centre for recreation and education. Bad Bleiberg is also a fascinating 25-minute drive away: the two show mines Terra Mystica and Terra Montana take you on a journey through 700 years of mining history.

See for yourself that the Villach holiday region is fun at any weather: whether in the Villach climbing hall, the Volume bouldering hall or the St. Martin bouldering hall - here you can experience sporting challenges and lots of climbing fun.
